Le bébé arraché du ventre de sa mère a été retrouvé vivant

Darlene Haynes, 23 ans, a été retrouvée assassinée dans un placard de son appartement, Massachusetts. La pire partie de l'histoire est que son ventre a été coupé et que son bébé pas encore né, a été arraché de son utérus.

Le bébé, une fille, a été retrouvé, en "assez bonne santé" et Julie Corey, la femme qui était en possession de l'enfant a été arrêtée. Julie Corey avait annoncé quelques jours plus tôt à son entourage qu'elle venait de donner naissance à un bébé, mettant certains de ses amis dans le doute.

Darlene Haynes avait aussi trois autres jeunes enfants.

Un crime de ce genre n'est pas unique. Le mois dernier seulement, Korena Elaine Roberts, 27 ans, a été accusée dans l'Oregon, d'un crime similaire, d'avoir tué Heather Megan Snively, 21 ans, en ouvrant son ventre afin de prendre son bébé. Dans ce cas, le bébé n'a pas survécu.

Un autre cas similaire est arrivé à Pittsburgh, il y a un an.

Pour le moment, nous ne connaissons pas la motivation de l'horrible assassinat de Darlene Haynes, mais dans les deux autres cas, la cause semble être le désir intense irrationnel d'une femme d'avoir un enfant. Peut-être la même motivation qui mène aux enlèvements de bébés, mais augmenté jusqu'à un degré démentiel.

Cette histoire nous rappelle aussi une autre histoire qui s'est passée en 2006, dans un pays plus lointain, le Pérou. L'histoire d'une jeune péruvienne de 18 ans, Claudina Herrera, trouvée assassinée avec le ventre ouvert et le bébé disparu. Dans ce cas, la motivation était l'argent et les meurtriers étaient les intermédiaires, mais la cause source est encore le désir intense irrationnel (ou naturel) d'une femme (d'un homme) d'avoir un enfant.

Cases of fetal abduction are generally perpetrated by desperate women who have faked a pregnancy and need to produce a child to bear out their deception. In June, 21-year-old Heather Snively was killed in Oregon for her baby. The child did not survive the attack.

The truly appalling part of this crime is that it is not unique, such horrors have happened to others. Only last month Korena Elaine Roberts was charged in Oregon with a similar crime, cutting open Heather Snively so as to take her baby and killing her in the process.
Another similar case happened just over a year ago in Pittsburgh to a poor unfortunate called Kia Johnson.
In both cases the cause seemed to be the irrationally intense desire of a woman to have a child. Perhaps the same motivation that leads to baby snatching, but ratcheted up to a near insane degree.

A Massachusetts woman accused of cutting the fetus out of her pregnant friend and then telling others she'd just had a baby girl was ordered held on $2 million bail Thursday, a day after she was found with the live infant at a homeless shelter. Julie A. Corey, an acquaintance of 23-year-old homicide victim Darlene Haynes, was arrested after she was questioned late last night by authorities in Plymouth, N.H., police said. The baby girl was brought to a New Hampshire hospital, where she remained under evaluation.
Corey, 35, from Worcester, was charged with being a fugitive from authorities with probable cause that she had kidnapped Haynes’s baby. She was not charged in the homicide, but the investigation is continuing.

Neighbors say Corey and Dion used to live in the same building and knew Haynes through her boyfriend. Dion was taken into custody and released to a family member. One of the women, 21-year-old Heather Snively, was pregnant. The other, 27-year-old Korena Roberts, was not. But Roberts had been telling people she was.
